I especially like the chunks of peaches you get with each bite. This is fairly straight forward recipe to an all-time favorite southern treat. Peach ice cream always makes me think of the time we first moved into this neighborhood and the couple across the street invited us and another couple over for homemade peach ice cream. It’s just one of those simple desserts that says “hospitality.”

My New Cuisinart

I knew this recipe was coming up and it was the perfect excuse to buy an ice cream machine. The new machine is a Cusinart stainless with red accents which matches  my red toaster, red teapot and one day my red kitchen aid. For some reason, red accents are sexy in a kitchen.  

I need Recipes for Ice Cream, Gelato and Frozen Yogurt

If you have a good recipe for any of the above that especially has a healthy profile, uses fresh ingredients, raw agave, fresh herbs, etc. please comment here and give me your link, and if I end up making them, I’ll be sure to link it back to you. (no artificial sweeteners).

Recipe

4 large ripe peaches

1/4 cup honey

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup sugar

2 t pure vanilla extract

I found the ice cream to be on the sweet side, and next time I might cut the sugar by half or out altogether. We could taste the “cream” and for our taste buds, it was too rich.
